Author Description Mike Ashley is a full-time writer and researcher and a former local government officer and auditor. He has specialised in the history of science fiction, fantasy and other popular fiction for 30 years with over 50 books and 500 articles to his credit. He received the Science Fiction Research Association's Pilgrim Award in 2002 for Lifetime Achievement in the field of science-fiction scholarship.
