Author Description Aylward Edward Dingle (1874-1947) was a sailor and writer. He spent 22 years at sea and was shipwrecked five times. He wrote pulp fiction for magazines such as <i>Adventure</i> and <i>Blue Book</i> under the names Captain A.E. Dingle and Sinbad. <i>A Modern Sinbad</i> is his autobiography.<br />
